DIVA - FIERY - PROVOCATIVE
The diamonds in radiant cut are as dazzling as their name implies. Henry Grossbard created the very first radiant cut diamond in the late 1970’s. The radiant cut diamond is considered to be one of the shiniest cuts of diamonds because of its 70-facet cut. True to its name, this cut is truly radiant. While the octagonal shape and cropped corners do make it similar to the emerald cut, the faceting is reminiscent of the round brilliant cut. This combination gives the radiant considerable fire and sparkle as stunningly as the classic round cut diamond. Radiants are the ideal cut for coloured diamonds. Due to its faceting structure, this cut provides a depth which emphasises the colour tones of any diamond.
Radiant cut diamonds are in the gemstone cut group known as “hybrids.” The rectangular radiant cut is an excellent option for buyers who like the emerald cut shape, but want something with the brilliance of a round. Radiant cut diamonds tend to be a very popular choice for fancy coloured diamonds because they capture more rough diamond colour than other cuts.

Please see the ideal table, depth and length to width ratio combinations for radiant cuts. An important consideration when selecting a radiant cut is the colour. Radiant tend to show colour more than round diamonds due to less depth in the tips.
Diamonds in the colourless range (D-F) carry a premium due to the fact that they are incredibly rare, but the truth is, the difference between the colourless and near colourless (G-J) grade ranges is difficult to perceive, especially to the naked eye. Consider one higher colour grade with radiant shapes, when compared to round shaped diamonds.
